Treat Yourself!

The best time of the year is almost upon us, Summer Time in Northern Michigan! How do you spend your summer months? Boating, beaching, cycling, hiking Sleeping Bear Dunes? Personally I enjoy playing beach volleyball with my husband, hitting the beach with my kiddos and road biking with my Dad. All of these summer time activities require the correct gear to maximize your experience, and a pair of polarized, prescription or non prescription sunglasses should definitely be in your beach bag this summer!

I know what you are thinking, “I can grab a pair of sunglasses at the gas station or department store for $10, why would I invest a bunch of money in a expensive pair?” Well let me give you my top 3 reasons why I think everyone should own a good, quality pair of sunglasses!

  1. UV blocking sunglasses are healthier for your eyes. UV rays are extremely damaging to your eyes and has a cumulative effect over the course of our lives, such as increasing the risk of developing sight-threatening conditions like cataracts and macular degeneration.
  2. Polarized sunglasses cut down on bothersome glare. When you are out on the water or at the beach, do you want to be squinting and uncomfortable with the sun reflecting off the water? Of course not! You want to have optically clear and comfortable vision, which is what polarized technology will give you!
  3. If you are not a contact lens wearer and can’t wear non prescription sunglasses, I want you to “treat yourself” to a pair of prescription sunglasses. Coming from a glasses wearer, they will change your life! (this may sound dramatic, but I really mean it! 🙂 You may think 2 pair of glasses is a “luxury”, but really, I think it is a necessity. As a glasses wearer, I love taking my glasses off when I get outdoors in the sun and putting on my prescription, polarized sunglasses. They are comfortable, I see great in them and it is fun to have another stylish pair of eye glasses to wear!

We carry Ray Ban, SMITH, Carerra and can order lots of additional styles and brands in if there was something special you were looking for. CHEERS TO SUMMER! And hopefully a new pair of stylish sunglasses to enjoy your favorite summer activities with 🙂
